Comments: I had a choice to make when I found this blaster: either one of these or one of the Throwback “12” Topps Ser. 1. I decided to go for one of these because I’m still looking for a bunch of Red Sox cards here and I’m un- decided about going for the set. I suspect I will, but in a less-aggressive fashion than I’ve taken in previous years.
The contents of the blaster were OK, not great. I did get three short prints (seeded 1 in 3 packs) and a pair of inserts, so I beat the odds. But there were no chromes. Some people hate ’em, I happen to like them. Also didn’t get any autos or relics, but those are bonus cards if you get the,. You can’t go into Heritage planning to pull one of those, unless of course you’re a searcher.
I think I may try my hand at another one down the road. I’m still curious about the Throwback Topps Target exclusives, but there’s not a ton of incentive to crack one of those. The cash value of the ManuPatches has decreased to a point where they no longer can take care of my cost for the base cards. Basically what I did with my Wal-Mart Topps Dark blaster was keep the base cards and sell the patch (Cal Ripken) to recoup most of the cost on my box.

Corey Patterson’s in this set? Really? He’s one of the best Reds Topps could come up with?
