Viva Viagra! The GREATEST racing card ever made

It doesn’t take a Good Ol’ Boy to see the greatness of this racing card.

Although Mark Martin is one of the best NASCAR drivers in the history of the sport, it is his sponsorship with Viagra that has gained him some claim to fame among non-racing fans. And what can make that subject matter ever better? An insert card called “BurnOuts” featuring the Viagra car and a piece of used rubber.

There had to be someone in the Press Pass offices looking at this card while it was being designed knowing that someone in America like me was going to take the opportunity to make fun, right?

All kidding aside, this is the first — and only — race-used card I’ll ever own. I’m not a NASCAR guy, but I’ve always been curious what the sport’s relic cards looked, felt and smelled like. Yeah, I said smell. Don’t act like you’ve never put your nose to the jersey to see if Upper Deck was really bringing you closer to the game than anyone else.

I suppose in the racing world, these race-used tire cards must be on par with game-used bat cards for baseball — companies can make thousands of relic cards from just one piece of memorabilia. Hell, this Mark Martin card is serial numbered 0099/1500. Too bad it was not numbered 30 cards earlier … would have made this entire post even better.
