Whether you’re a Republican or a Democrat, or even Independent, you really can’t hate when you stumble upon a presidential signature.

As you know I’ve a frequent thrift store treasure hunter. I usually stick to sports stuff, but I’ll dabble in other items if I see fit. I don’t always dig through the book section of stores, but from time to time I spend the time and go through them. And 95 percent of the time the books stay right where they are.

And then there is that 5 percent of the time when I find something I like, like signed books.

This week I unearthed a treasure that might polarize my audience, but as collectors you really can’t hate on this: an autobiography signed by President George W. Bush.

The price of this book was $2.99, the same as most retail baseball card packs. And here’s the funny thing: Card companies but items like this, have them authenticated by Psa/DNA or JSA, then cut them up and out them
Into baseball cards. Once they are in cards, the cards are seeded into packs at astronomical rates and then the cards well for hundreds — and sometimes thousands — of dollars in the secondary market.

Granted Most of us would have loved to have this in a card-form, but at this price you can’t beat that find.
