Please, Hammer, don’t hurt ’em

In the early 90s, there was nothing cooler than MTV. And one time during the year, the sports and music worlds would collide with the annual Rock ‘n Jock Softball Game.

The game was usually cheesy as hell, packed full of shenanigans designed to entertain more than showcase any athletic talent the participants possessed. Nonetheless, the game was a staple in my television viewing for a good three- to five-year span.

One distinct memory I have is of MC Hammer (or Hammer) taking a monster swing during a game and barely hitting the ball — the epitome of a swinging bunt.

It was indeed good times.

So imagine my reaction when I located this 1992 MTV Rock N Jock Softball “Limited Edition” (of 20,000) card of Hammer on CheckOutMyCards.com. I didn’t even know the card existed.

My jaw dropped, my bind was blown, and my wallet was quickly emptied. (Psst, it really only cost me a quarter.)

One thing is for sure …

Really, that’s a great find! I’d buy that for a quarter in an instant!
